11. Tom And Jerry Again

The ‘Tom and Jerry’ show was reproduced many times with different names. In 1975 it came out as ‘The Tom and Jerry Show’, ‘The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show’ in 1980, in 1990 as ‘The Tom and Jerry Kids’ and as ‘The Tom and Jerry Tales’ in 2006. It was loved by the audience throughout its journey.

12. Tom And Jerry Took Their Own Life

Actually, cartoons never die. In the final episode produced by Hanna and Barbera as “Blue Cat Blues”, Tom and Jerry come to the railway track and both take their own life on the track. It was a tragic end of their life. The episode gave rise to a greater controversy. The audience said that if they can avoid gunshots, hammers, and explosions they can’t die on the track. They can save their life anytime.

13. NASA Satellite Name

The Tom and Jerry series was so popular that NASA has given ‘Tom and Jerry’ as the name for their two satellites. So it is not wrong to say that Tom and Jerry are available in space as well.

14. Oscar-Winning

Whilst the’ Tom and Jerry’ animation series was on top of its popularity, it got thirteen Oscar nominations for best short cartoon and won seven of them. Tom and Jerry won their first-ever Oscar won in 1943 for the episode “The Yankee Doodle Mouse” and the seventh in 1953 as “Johann Mouse”.

15. Eighty Years Old As of 2020

‘Tom and Jerry’ are now eighty years old.  Even now ‘Tom and Jerry’ stay dominant over other cartoon series. It is an exceptional series for the audience. In India, the series was released and the episodes were telecasted from the starting February 1940 on the Cartoon Network channel. The Series was discontinued by the broadcasting authorities in May 1957 for various reasons. One of the reasons was, it portrayed drinking alcohol which is very common in the west. However, it has started telecasting episodes on the POGO television channel from 14 November 2020.
