As Delhi gears up for its upcoming assembly elections, the political battleground has extended to social media, with memes and videos taking center stage. Recently, the BJP shared an AI-generated Shark Tank India video featuring Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi elections are around the corner and no party is leaving any stone unturned in making their case strong. Even if it is needed to use AI-generated images and videos, both parties are utilizing the technology to the fullest.

Last night, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dropped an AI-generated video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring Arvind Kejriwal pitching liquor scams on Shark Tank India. In this quirky jab, Arvind Kejriwal is seen proposing ideas like “daaru pe daaru free,” only for the sharks to reject him with a unanimous, “I’m out.” The video, aimed at ridiculing the alleged Delhi liquor scam, quickly gained traction online.

This meme war didn’t come out of nowhere. AAP had earlier posted its version of Shark Tank, mocking BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Their video framed BJP leaders as contestants pitching policies with a clear undertone of sarcasm. AAP’s meme highlighted alleged failures and policy gaps, sparking conversations across social media. They call the video, Shark Tank: BJP version.

Bharatiya Janata Party’s response directly shot AAP’s handling of the liquor policy scandal, a sensitive topic that has dogged Kejriwal’s government by using a culturally relevant reference like Shark Tank India, the BJP not only retaliated but also brought the liquor scam back into the limelight in a way that’s both clever and memorable. Labelling Kejriwal as “Mahathug” (master swindler) in their posts, BJP made sure the message hit hard.
Memes As Political Strategy

This isn’t just entertainment; it’s politics, Delhi-style. Both AAP and BJP are using memes as weapons to engage with younger voters, turning serious political issues into bite-sized, shareable content. While AAP leans on its pro-free-services stance to appeal to voters, BJP is hammering home its accusations of corruption and poor governance.
Delhi Elections

Beyond the humor, there’s a lot at stake. AAP, which dominated the 2020 elections, is now defending its turf against a resurgent BJP. Both parties are using every tool, including memes, to win over Delhiites ahead of the February 5 polls.
In this battle of memes, it’s clear that politics has entered a new era where social media theatrics play a key role. Whether these viral jabs can sway votes is anyone’s guess, but for now, Delhi’s political drama is playing out as much online as it is on the streets. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy a bit of Shark Tank banter on the side?
