These days, we are mostly hearing the news of betrayal, crime, murder, and double-cross. But let me tell you, true love still exists, and it has no expiry date. Kindness needs no stage. In a world where grand gestures often grab the spotlight, sometimes it’s the quiet, heartfelt moments that truly shine. When a 93-year-old man walked into a jewellery store with a simple request — that he wanted a mangalsutra for his wife — he had no idea his act of love would inspire millions. What followed wasn’t just a transaction, but a powerful reminder that love has no age, and kindness still exists in unexpected places. The jewellery shop owner’s response? Nothing short of priceless.

In Jalna, near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, a 93-year-old villager wearing a traditional white ‘dhoti-kurta’ and a cap entered a jewelry store. The employees thought he was a person in need of financial assistance because of his modest appearance.

Jeweller’s Beautiful Gesture For Old Man’s Love Wins Hearts

A heart-touching video from Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, is capturing the enduring love of an old couple and the generosity of a local jeweller. In the video, which has gone viral on social media, a 93-year-old man visits a jewelry store to get a mangalsutra for his wife. Because of the shopkeeper’s kindness, he just paid Rs 20 for it.

Nivrutti Shinde and his wife Shantabai, hailing from a humble farming family at Ambhora Jahagir village in Jalna district, are currently on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur on foot for the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebration.

They recently visited the jewellery shop located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

As they entered the store, the staff initially assumed they were there to seek help or alms. But they became emotional when the man humbly expressed his wish to purchase a traditional ‘mangalsutra’ for his wife.

The elderly woman displayed Rs 1,120 in cash when asked how much money they had. “So much money?” the shopkeeper asked gently, sensing how little they had and their good intentions. The old man took this as a sign that the quantity could be insufficient and took out two bundles of coins from his bag.

But the storekeeper wouldn’t take the full amount. As a sign of their devotion, he instead promised the couple that he would only charge them Rs 20 — Rs 10 from each of them. The elderly couple was moved to tears by this thoughtful act. The shop owner said,

“The couple entered the shop, and the man gave me Rs 1,120, saying he wanted to buy a mangalsutra for his wife. I was overwhelmed by his gesture. I just took Rs 20 from him as a token of blessings and handed over the mangalsutra to the couple.”

Locals claim that the couple supports each other in their golden years by traveling together all the time. The video has since gone viral across Maharashtra, especially on Instagram, where it has received over 2 million likes and been shared more than 500,000 times.

They added that although they have a son, they mostly take care of themselves and frequently rely on the kindness of people while traveling.

This wasn’t just about a Mangalsutra or even a transaction. It was about recognition — as the couple walked out of the shop, clutching the mangalsutra and wiping tears of gratitude, they left behind more than just coins. Their love was honored, not with price tags, but with presence — they left behind a story that melted hearts across the nation. In a single gesture, a humble jeweller honored a lifetime of love, proving that compassion still shines brighter than gold.
