She is originally from Faridabad and reportedly works in the beauty industry by running a salon. Police officials said she also owns a house in Noida, having purchased a flat in the city earlier this year. The complaint was filed by Smriti Singh, a Supreme Court advocate and resident of Vasundhara in Ghaziabad. According to the complaint, she came across the protest video from July 23 in which Ruchika Singh allegedly made abusive and objectionable remarks while addressing people gathered at Jantar Mantar.
The complainant alleged that the statements insulted the dignity of the Prime Minister’s constitutional office, hurt public sentiments and were made with the deliberate intention of spreading hostility and disturbing public peace.
