They can go above the limitations placed on their relationship by the laws of religion, politics, and distance by maintaining the belief that true love knows no bounds.

After over 22 years, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will ignite their on-screen chemistry in Gadar 2 again. Sunny Deol’s legendary Tara Singh role in Gadar was modeled off Boota Singh, a stunning former soldier. According to reports, Singh participated in World War II on the Burma front for the British Military under Lord Mountbatten. However, when he started dating the Muslim woman Zainab, his life turned an incredibly tragic turn. Sadly, the tale deeply wounded both Pakistan and India.

They came into contact due to tragic events when Zainab, who was part of a caravan traveling to Pakistan, was kidnapped. Boota Singh saved Zainab with incredible bravery, and their relationship grew more potent as a result. Soon after getting married, they had daughters named Tanveer and Dilveer.

But then awful events occurred. Both the governments of India and Pakistan pressed for the return of missing women to their respective nations after the Inter-Dominion Treaty. A law created in this situation declared a woman to have been abducted if she began an inter-communal relationship after March 1, 1947. Unexpectedly, this legal process caused Boota Singh and Zainab to be separated.

Later, Zainab’s journey also saw more unexpected turns. Her family pressured her to tie the knot with someone else once she returned to Pakistan. Due to the situation, Boota Singh sets out on a journey to retrieve his wife and daughters. He became an Islam convert due to his perseverance and desire to heal the rift. But fate turned out to be brutal, as Zainab’s family rejected him under the influence of outside powers.

After enduring such torment, Boota Singh was inconsolable. He committed suicide at Pakistan’s Shahdara station. He was rushing right before a train with his young daughter, who survived. Boota Singh said in his suicide note that he wished to be laid to rest in the village of his beloved wife, Zainab. However, his story didn’t end there. Her family did not comply with this request, and Boota Singh was buried in Lahore’s Miani Sahib.
