After a long wait, Team India is announced for Asia Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, and KL Rahul will return as his deputy. The most notable absentee from the team is Jasprit Bumrah. He suffered a back injury during the third ODI between India vs. England. Harshal Patel will also miss the Asia Cup due to injury. BCCI has announced the 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2022.

Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and Deepak Chahar are the three players on standby. Mohammed Shami, Sanju Samson, and Kuldeep Yadav are not in the squad.
Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were not available for selection owing to injuries. They are currently undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru.

The schedule for Asia Cup 2022 is already out. The tournament will be held in UAE. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup 2022 will start on August 27, and the final is on September 11. Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, which will be ideal preparation for the T20 World Cup in October this year. Rohit Sharma’s Team India will play their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, August 28, at Dubai International Stadium.
