Set in the backdrop of the Chambal Valley in the 1970s, Sonchiriya helps us take a look at the life of a group of dacoits. Though the cast and crew of the movie stole most of the thunder with their raw and realistic portrayal of the armed robbers, the director of the movie Abhishek Chaubey is the real hero here. His slow yet interesting approach towards unraveling the plot has made the audience stick to their seats till the very end of the movie. It is one of those movies which at farsight might look like an art movie, but only on closer observation, one would know that it is ideal for any movie lover. The main lead of Sonchiriya Sushant Singh Rajput also knows how to fly a plane.
The Fakir of Venice (Hindi)
If you think making someone believe in you is hard, then just imagine how hard it would be to make someone believe in trusting you so that you can cheat on them later. This is pretty much the gist of the 2019 comedy drama – The Fakir of Venice. Technically speaking, the movie could have been the debut film for the Rockstar fame Farhan Akhtar. However, it took about a decade to release. Despite that, the movie still managed to receive a good response.
Hey Jude (Malayalam)
Hey Jude was far and away one of the best romantic movies to come out from Mollywood in 2018. Featuring two of the best actors from both Kollywood and Mollywood, the movie managed to carve a special space in the audience’s heart. Ever since the news of Trisha making her Malayalam Debut opposite Nivin Pauly hit the headlines, fans of both the actors were excited to watch Hey Jude in theatre. This Shyamaprasad movie revolves around the changes in the life of Jude (Nivin) after meeting Crystal (Trisha) in Goa. This slice-of-life drama is sure to leave you smiling.
Mulshi Pattern (Marathi)
Mulshi Pattern is about Rahul (Om Bhutkar) who turns to crime after his dad Sakharam Patil (Mohan Joshi) sells off their ancestral property. This 2018 cult hit was praised by the audience and critics alike, with many raving about the relevance of the movie’s themes and powerful performances. The realistic depiction of the difficulties faced by farmers in Maharashtra became one of the highlight points of the movie.
Basheerinte Premalekhanam (Malayalam)
Nostalgia is an emotion that few movies are able to capture well. However, if there is one recent movie that did it very effectively, then it has to be Basheerinte Premalekhanam. This movie speaks to all those who saw the arrival of the TV for the first time in their village which back then was a pretty big deal. The movie shows how a TV set helps love blossoms between a couple and the trouble that ensues. The movie features some great cast and crew, including Farhaan Faasil who is very passionate about acting and unlike his brother does not mind doing commercial movies.
You can watch all the above-listed movies on ZEE5 right now. With such a great collection of movies, ZEE5 is the right streaming service that one must subscribe to for watching online content. What do you think about our recommendations? Let us know in the comments.
