These Five Are The Most Horrifying Serial Killers Of All Time




A Serial killer is someone who kills three or more people over a long period of time, usually because of their abnormal psychological desires. Psychological and sexual gratification is the most common motive behind these crimes. Here is list of most horrifying serial killers of human history:


1. Edward Gein

Ed Gein committed a series of crimes before his death in 1984. Ed was a suspect in the murder of his own brother but this could not be proved. Later, Ed started making nocturnal visits to local graveyards for digging graves of middle aged women who resembled his deceased mother. He began peeling of the skin of the corpses to assemble a woman suit out of it. He was arrested finally for the murder of two local women. When police entered his house, they found it decorated with human body parts. Gein spent rest of his life in a mental institute after being declared ‘criminally insane’. He finally died of respiratory failure caused by lung cancer in July, 1984.


2. Javed Iqbal


Javed Iqbal was an insane serial killer from Lahore, Pakistan. He was guilty of sexual assault and murder of over hundred children, all aged between 6 and 16. His sadistic tendencies came to light when he sent a letter to police and editor of a Lahore based newspaper, confessing to the murders of over hundred boys, mostly runaways and orphans living on the streets. He would lure the kids to his home and proceed to drug, rape and finally murder them. He would go on to dismember their bodies and dissolve them in Hydrochloric Acid. He would then dump the remains in a local river. He was finally arrested, tried and sentenced to death. On 8th October 2001, iqbal committed suicide in Lahore Central jail, where he had been incarcerated post his arrest.


3. Richard Trenton Chase


Chase had a history of abnormal behavior. He even spent time in a mental hospital for hunting down small animals and eating them raw. Symptoms of his psychotic disorder escalated with time and he started killing humans, drinking their blood and eating their body parts. Chase was also reported to have been suffering from necrophilia. He confessed to have abducted and killed six people. He used to fill his bathtub with the blood of his victims and bathe in it. Chase was finally arrested when he had killed an entire family. He was then sentenced to death but he took his own life in a prison cell before he could be executed.


4. Henry Lee Lucas


Henry Lee Lucas was a remorseless serial killer who is supposed to have killed at least 350 people. However, He confessed to have been involved in around 600 murders. He spent 10 years in jail for the murder of his own mother and was released due to overcrowding. Once out of jail, his blood-lust escalated and he went on a rampage, killing people and dismembering their bodies. Henry was arrested and sentenced to death but his sentence was reduced to life imprisonment by then governor George W Bush. He died from heart failure in a prison in 2001.


5. Ted Bundy

Theodre Robert Bundy, one of America’s most prolific serial killers, was a handsome and charismatic man. He was a kidnapper, rapist and necrophile who assaulted and killed over thirty young women. Bundy approached women in public places, faking injury or disability. He would then seduce them. Once he would find them alone, he would transform into a pure evil and kill them in cold blood. Bundy used to hide their bodies so that he could visit them again to gratify his sick obsession. Bundy gradually became a suspect in progressively longer list of unsolved homicides. According to his biographer, he was “a sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human's pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death, and even after." He once called himself " the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet". Bundy was arrested several times and escaped only to be recaptured and executed at the age of 42.

These five were the most horrifying serial killers of all time.
