Can you spend a day without internet? Your answer probably goes with the majority of today’s population, No. Studies have recently found out the Internet today, has become a necessity like water and shelter. Internet has also been termed as ‘the miracle of universal connectivity’. Is this an alarm? Or is this an eye-opener for all of us?
A study titled: Connected Consumers Are Not Created Equal: A Global Perspective revealed that at an average 51% people are continuously connected to the internet every waking hour. The study covered a total of 10 countries and around 10,000 respondents.
10. Japan

The studies revealed that youngsters feel lonely and disconnected to the world if they are not online. The percentage of dependency on the Internet is 62% in Japan. Fear of missing out on things and events is what drives most of the population there.

Here, the majority of the Internet users were classified as normal users. But, symptoms of internet addiction were found among high school students. In Italy, 62% is the internet dependency.

7. Spain

According to recent studies, a quarter of Spain’s population show symptoms of Internet addiction. 85% said that they have an active social media account and the Internet dependency in Spain is 65%.

According to studies, 6% of the total teenagers are addicted to Internet. The total Internet dependency in Russia is 66%. Internet addiction has been counted as a major factor in the reduced mental health of the teenagers in Russia.
