The Tata group appears to have bolstered its travel and tourism portfolio with the return of Air India, which already includes the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), Air Asia (India), and Vistara.

Air India, founded by the renowned JRD Tata, has pioneered India’s aviation sector, and the airline’s history is inextricably linked to India’s civil aviation history.

Since its inaugural flight on October 15, 1932, Air India has grown into a prominent worldwide airline with a network that spans the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Far East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Caribbean. After taking over Air India in the last week of January 2022, the Tata group welcomed it back to its kitty after over seven decades.
