1. Cataract Surgery
Sushruta (600-512 B.C) was an Indian physician who advocated the caesarian section and removal of kidney stones and cataracts. He is the father of Anaesthesia and plastic surgery, cataract surgery.
2. Diamond Mining
Diamonds were first recognized and mined in central India. The Arthashastra of Kautilya mentions diamond trade in India. India remained the world's only source of diamonds until the discovery of diamonds in Brazil in the 18th century
3. Earth’s Gravitation
Objects fall on the earth due to a force of attraction by the earth. Therefore, the earth, planets and constellations, moon and sun are held in orbit due to this attraction. These were said by an Indian astronomer Bhaskaracharya in surya siddhanta dated 400-500 A.D. approximately 1200 years later, 1687 A.D sir Isaac Newton rediscovered this phenomenon and called it Law of Gravity.
Acharya charak is known to be Ayurvedic scientist and skin specialist. He gave ayurvedic solutions to all kind of diseases and it’s mentioned in a book charak samhita.
5. Microwave Communication
The first public demonstration of microwave transmission was made by Jagadish Chandra Bose. Bose's revolutionary demonstration forms the foundation of the technology used in mobile telephony, radars, satellite communication, radios, television broadcast, WiFi, remote controls and countless other applications.
6. Zero Symbol
The Hindu academic Aryabhatta, who was a great mathematician and an ace astronomer, contributed towards the invention of ‘0’ in ‘Aryabhatta’s Bhakshali’ manuscript and thus zero came into existence. We can’t do mathematics without ‘0’ as it plays a crucial role in arithmetic.
7. Space Travelling
Forget Wright Brothers. It is Saint Bharadwaj who invented equipment that could vanish an airplane through his Vayushastras. He had also revealed the secrets of travelling from one planet to the other. He had given operation of ancient vimanas, information on steering, precautions for long flights, protection of the airships from storms and lightning, and how to switch the drive to solar energy, or some other “free energy” source in his book Vymaanika-Shaastra, a fourth century BC.
8. Atomic Theory
Atomic theory was actually formulated by an Indian sage and philosopher known as Acharya Kanad. Acharya Kanad was born in 600 BC in Prabhas Kshetra (near Dwaraka) in Gujarat, India. His real name was Kashyap. It was Kanada who originated the idea that anu (atom) was an indestructible particle of matter.
9. Fibonacci Series
This sequence was first described by Brahmagupta, Virahanka, Gopāla and Hemachandra as an outgrowth of the earlier writings on Sanskrit prosody by Pingala.
High quality steel was produced almost two thousand years before it was understood by the West. One of the most remarkable feat in metallurgy is creating a seamless celestial globe which was invented in Kashmir. It was earlier considered impossible to create a metal globe without seams.
