9. The Khajuraho Group Of Monuments

This UNESCO World Heritage site is located in Chhatarpur district, in Madhya Pradesh. It comprises a group of Hindu and Jain temples. The periods of these monuments were between 885 AD and 1050 AD, and it was built by the Chandela dynasty. The important feature of this temple is the harmonious integration of sculptures and Nagara-style architecture depicting social life through various themes of sculptures.

The three mountain railways of India built in the mountains are the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, and the Kalka-Shimla Railway. These Mountain Railways are declared as UNESCO World Heritage site under the name “Mountain Railways of India.” The journey through these routes can be quoted as “Journey over destination” if you travel through monsoons rains, attractive greenery, slow dancing air, and dreamy snowfall.

It is the habitat of rare and endangered animals like snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, blue sheep, and Asiatic black bear. It is also a habitat for Himalayan monal pheasant and other birds. This flowers National park is located in North Chamoli and Pithoragarh, in Uttarakhand.

 

13. Ellora Caves

Ellora Caves is the UNESCO World Heritage site that comprises the artwork and sanctuaries related to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It is one of the largest rock-cut cave complexes in the world. The Kailash temple is the largest rock-cut Hindu temple in Ellora caves. There are more than 100 caves at this heritage site. The monuments in the Ellora caves are built during the Rashtrakuta dynasty, mainly constructing the Hindu and Buddhist caves, and The Yadava Dynasty constructs Jain caves.
