The wait is over! Tata Motors has officially launched its most-awaited Tata Harrier EV in India, and it’s making headlines for all the right reasons. Priced at an introductory rate, this electric SUV is not just another addition to Tata’s growing EV lineup, but a game-changer that brings back all-wheel-drive technology to the brand after more than 5 years.
Tata Harrier EV Exterior Design

The Harrier EV looks familiar yet fresh. Tata has kept most of the design elements from the regular Harrier that we have known since 2023, but added some electric vehicle touches that make it stand out.
What’s new on the outside? The front gets a closed grille, a signature look for electric vehicles, paired with a redesigned bumper featuring modern line-based styling. The side profile showcases new 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels that not only look great but also enhance health (aerodynamics) and efficiency. You will also notice the EV badges on the front doors, clearly marking this as an electric vehicle.
Now, talking about the back, the changes are subtle but meaningful. The tailgate now carries Harrier EV lettering, making it clear this is not your regular Harrier. Size-wise, the EV version is slightly different from its petrol counterpart. It’s 2mm longer and 22mm taller. However, the wheelbase remains the same at 2741mm.
Tata Harrier EV Interior

Step inside, and you will find a cabin that feels both familiar and futuristic. The highlight is the massive 14.53-inch infotainment screen, and here is the exciting part — it’s the world’s first Samsung QLED display in a car. This means you get incredibly crisp and clear image quality that makes using the system a pleasure.
The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital display, while the steering wheel features force feedback with an illuminated Tata logo. Storage space hasn’t been compromised either. You get 502 liters of boot space, which expands to 999 liters when you fold the second row. Plus, there is a frunk (front trunk) for additional storage.
Color Options And Special Edition
Tata offers attractive colour choices, Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pure White, and Pure Grey. But here is something exciting — there is also the Stealth Edition available. This special variant features blackout design elements both inside and outside, following Tata’s popular Dark Edition theme.
Tata Harrier EV Features
Let me tell you, the feature list is extensive and impressive. The centre console features touch-based climate controls, and below that, you will find a rotary selector for six different terrain modes: Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom. This shows that Tata has designed the Harrier EV for both city driving and off-road adventures.
Other standout features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated and powered front seats, and a special Boss Mode for second-row passengers. The 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos 5.1 ensures your music sounds amazing, while the power tailgate adds convenience.
Smart Technology Features
The Harrier EV introduces Tata Intelligence, a digital architecture layer, and a new electrical system that powers connected car features like over-the-air updates and voice commands. The 540-degree around-view camera system is clever enough that it warns you if any wheel gets too close to a curb.
There is also a new DrivePay feature that eliminates the need for your phone when paying at FASTag points or EV charging stations. The system even includes a digital inside rear-view mirror and auto park assist.
Tata Harrier EV Safety First Approach

Safety hasn’t been overlooked. Every Harrier EV comes with 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera system, a built-in dashcam, blind-spot monitoring, and electronic stability control.
The Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been especially tuned for Indian road conditions. One unique feature is the live feed from all cameras around the vehicle, particularly useful during off-road adventures, and a segment-first addition.
Power And Performance
The Harrier EV comes in two battery pack options, both using lithium iron phosphate technology. The entry-level variants get a 65 kWh battery powering a single rear motor that produces 238 hp. For those wanting more power, the 75 kWh variant offers dual motors, one for each axle, generating a combined 313 hp and an impressive 504 Nm of torque. This all-wheel-drive version can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds when Boost Mode is activated.
Range And Charging
Charging Type | Details |
---|---|
AC Charging | 7.2kW (10–100% in 10.7 hours) |
DC Fast Charging | 120kW (20–80% in 25 minutes) |
Range anxiety? Not with the Harrier EV. The 75 kWh rear-wheel-drive version offers up to 625 km of MIDC-certified range, while the all-wheel-drive variant provides 622 km. During Tata’s internal C75 testing cycle, the RWD 75 kWh version achieved a real-world range of 480–505 km.
Charging is convenient. Using a 7.2 kW AC charger, you can charge from 10–100% in 10.7 hours. In a hurry? A 120 kW DC fast charger will take the battery from 20–80% in 25 minutes.
Off-Road-Ready Technology

The Harrier EV features a new ultra-glide multi-link rear suspension with frequency-dependent dampers, specially designed for better off-road performance. The off-road assist function works like low-speed cruise control, set as low as 5 kph for certain terrains.
The transparent mode is particularly interesting, as it shows what’s underneath the vehicle on the infotainment screen. There is also a 4-level regenerative braking system, Assisted Mode for tight parking situations, and even a drift mode for enthusiastic drivers.
