Meet Suyash Dixit, The Self-Declared King Of A No-Man’s Land In Africa

 

Ever imagined going to a no-man’s land and declaring it as your own? Or having an entire kingdom in your name? This may sound quite impossible, but Indore based Suyash Dixit has made it possible! A businessman by profession, and a tech lover, he has self-declared himself as the king of a new realm which was owned by no one. This barren land in Africa was owned by no one until the moment Suyash claimed it. This piece of land lies between Egypt and Sudan and is known as Bir Tawil. It is about 2000 sq. kilometers of unclaimed barren land.

 

From Indore To Bir Tawil

Suyash is the owner of a software development company known as Softinator Labs. He also heads the Google Developers Group in Indore. He went Cairo to attend developers meet and from there he took a connecting flight to Abu  Simbel and then rented a car and went to Bir Tawil.

 

Sunflower Seeds And The Land Is His!

According to an ancient ritual, one needs to cultivate the land he/she owns. Following this idea, he buried some sunflower seeds on this barren land and claimed it to be his. No only the seeds, but he also hoisted a flag there, designed especially for ‘The Kingdom of Dixit’.

After returning to India, he filed a petition to the United Nations seeking recognition for his claim. He said about not being very optimistic about the reply, but 1000+ people have already supported him in a day’s span.
