Shahnaz Husain Rejects A Photographer Because Of This Reason And People Can’t Believe It

Attaining gender justice is not an easy task in India. From time immemorial, a girl child has been considered as an unwanted entity and a burden whom the parents would not mind doing away with. Discrimination against women begins even before her birth. The gruesome evils of female foeticide and infanticide prove how brutal the world could be to women.

Though the Indian constitution provides equal rights and privileges for men and women and makes equal provision to improve the status of women in society, majority of women are still unable to enjoy the rights and opportunities guaranteed to them.

On 4th May 2018, a female photographer named Natasha Sharma receives an email.  Natasha Sharma, 24, is a passionate travel blogger, photographer and NutShell productions. The email was sent by Shahnaz Husain Group, asking her to show up for an interview.

“Please Get  A Male For Me”

The very next day she had a long conversation with the HR team regarding the project. Once everything was finalised the team decided to take her to Shahnaz Husain’s house so that she can meet Natasha. But as soon as Shahnaz Husain sees this girl, she addresses her team saying,

“I don’t want a woman to do my shoot. I don’t think women can do photography. Later, there are issues with them for work hours and going home. Please get a male for me.”

This happens and her team tries to defend Natasha for the talent she carries. Also, Natasha tells Shahnaz that she’s working for four years now and timing won’t be the issue. All this hard work to no result, Natasha’s plea was dropped.

Was A Role Model For Female Entrepreneurs

A female entrepreneur herself, Shahnaz was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian govt. back in 2006. She belongs to a family of lawyers and her group has 400+ franchise clinics internationally. She’s definitely an achiever and a role-model for the females of this generation, but this latest controversy has tainted things for her.

In her open letter to Shahnaz Husain, Natasha mentions that a male photographer who is beginner to her was hired.

“I feel bad for the male photographer she hired. He was asked to work round the clock for the whole month, has to stay at her house all the time and sleep on the floor, on a pay of just ₹15k.”

writes Natasha.

This is the true situation of women trying to come up in life. They have to come across many sick minded people seated in high positions. Their personal believes and biased looks affect many young aspirants growth and career. We should change this outlook altogether and see more than just gender. What do you think about this incident?
