The much-awaited sports event of the year, Indian Premier League (IPL) 11th Edition finally marked its beginning today, that is 7th of April 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The opening IPL ceremony was supposed to witness Ranveer Singh’s performance who due to his injury, was unable to do so. However, the curtain raiser was indeed a blast. Here, have a look at the performances that highlighted this season’s ceremony:
1. Varun Dhawan Marks The Beginning
The young, enthusiastic actor, Varun Dhawan commenced the ceremony with a bang-on performance.

The Wankhede Stadium was lit when India’s very own Michael Jackson, Prabhu Deva shaked his leg on the stage.
3. Captains Take The Pledge
To uphold the game’s spirit, the visuals of all the team captains were shown on the screen.
4. Glamorous Performance By Tamannaah
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia showed her elegant moves on stage, performing to popular songs of different languages.
5. Mika Singh Lights The Stage On Fire
The singer was seen performing on popular songs, creating a lively atmosphere for the audience.
6. Jacqueline Fernandez Steals the Limelight
The stadium witnessed the hooting by the audience when Jacqueline performed to hit dance numbers.
7. Hrithik Roshan- The Main Act Of The Evening
The dancing superstar Hrithik Roshan grooved the audience with his smooth dance moves which made the audience stand on their feet to dance along.
8. The IPL Title Track
All the performers of the evening gathered on the stage as Mika Singh sang the catchy and known-to-all IPL’s title track that finally brought an end to the pre-game celebrations.
