Delhi Daredevils had struggles in this season of IPL. CSK was looking forward to adding to it. CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first. DD started slow and steady. After the powerplay, the score was 39/1.
CSK Bowlers Made The Inning Even Slower
After the powerplay overs, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer kept the scoreboard running. After the end of 15 overs, DD had lost 5 wickets and the score was still less than 100.
Shankar And Harshal Aided The Batting
It was certain that DD was going to end the inning at a low score. However, Vijay Shankar and Harshal Patel helped in the aid. They displayed amazing batting and pushed the score to 162/5 in 20 overs. Vijay Shankar scored 36 runs in 28 balls. On the other hand, Harshal Patel scored 36 runs in just 16 balls including 1 four and 4 sixes.
Strong Batting From CSK
The CSK openers, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu started strong. They did not give the bowlers any opportunities. They took the score to 44 runs without losing any wicket in first six overs.
Ambati Rayudu Scored A Half-Century
Shane Watson was dismissed in the seventh over. However, Ambati Rayudu was the embodiment of threat for DD. He scored 50 runs before being dismissed by Harshal Patel. Rayudu hit 4 fours and 4 sixes in his inning. After his dismissal, the DD bowlers put the pressure on CSK batsmen.
DD Registered The Win
The target became hard to achieve for CSK. Ravindra Jadeja played some good shot however, it was too late. The match slipped from their hands. And finally, Delhi Daredevils registered the win by 34 runs.
