After KKR’s victory in Match 49, Match 50 IPL 2018 took place with Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Their paths crossed once again and one of the team could head into the top 4 teams on the league table. KXIP and Mumbai Indians collided once again in Match 50. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and they decided to Bowl first.
Good Start For Mumbai Indians In Match 50
Mumbai Indian bats first and lost three wickets in the powerplay overs. Still it was a good start as they were able to knock 60 runs on the score board.
KXIP Bowlers Put MI Into The Pressure
After the Powerplay Overs the KXIP bowlers generated struggle for MI and the captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed at a low score. But Mumbai Indians has some struggle left in them. And, thanks to Keiran Pollard and Krunal Pandya the team made a recovery. Krunal and Pollard added 65 runs for the fifth wicket before Krunal was dismissed in the 15th over. After the 15 overs, the score was 151/5.
Keiran Pollard Knocked Half Century
Keiran Pollard displayed an amazing batting; he scored 50 runs in 23 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes. In the death overs, he played some big shots and took the score of Mumbai Indians to 186 runs in 20 overs.
Chris Gayle Failed Once Again
Since the target was quite high, all eyes were on the openers. Lokesh Rahul bat well. However, Chris Gayle could not impress us with his batting. He was dismissed earlier. After that Aaron Finch and Lokesh Rahul aided the inning and took the score to 57/1 till the end of the powerplay overs.
Jasprit Bumrah is the Man of the Match. Mumbai Indians won the match by 3 Runs. By beating KXIP in this match, they have registered their 6th win out of their total 13 matches. It’s not a good news for KXIP however, as they have now dropped down to the 6th position in the table. It surely was an exciting match to follow.
