Madhya Pradesh which is the second largest state in the country by area is celebrating its 61st formation day.

Because of its geographical location, it is called the heart of India. It was formed on November 1st 1956. Today different functions are being organized on this occasion across the state.

Congratulating people on the formation day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the next decade will be decade of Madhya Pradesh, according to ANI news.

Famous play back singers Hariharan and Sunidhi Chouhan will give musical presentations at Bhopal’s Lal Pared ground this evening.

Tourism is one of the main attractions here. On a positive note, the three sites Khajuraho Group of Monuments, Rewa, Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi (and the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka  in Madhya Pradesh have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The state is well-known for its classical and folk music.
