On 28 June 1971, Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital, to Errol and Maye. Elon Musk has spent most of his childhood in South Africa.  He lived mostly with his father after his parents divorced. At the age of 17, Elon Musk moved to Canada.

3. First Video Game At The Age Of 12

He had completed two internships, one at an energy storage start-up called Pinnacle Research Institute and another at the Palo Alto-based start-up Rocket Science Games. He moved to California to study Physics at Stanford University. However, he dropped out just after two days to found his company, Zip2 Corporation.

 

5. Founded Eight Companies

Elon Musk has founded a total of eight companies so far, Zip2, PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla, Hyperloop, OpenA, Neuralink, and The Boring Company. 

In 1995 Elon Musk founded web Software Company Zip2 that provided maps and business directories to the online newspapers with his brother Kimbal and Greg Kouri. It sold the company to Compaq for $307 million in 1999.

With the $10 million from the sale of Zip2, Musk co-founded X.com online payment after one year, it merged with Confinity to become PayPal, and then it was acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in which he owned 11.7%, which is the largest company share.

In 2002 Musk founded SpaceX, which is an American aerospace manufacturer and space transportation services company. Its first two rockets were the Falcon 1, launched in 2006, and the larger Falcon 9, launched in 2010. And then SpaceX launched the most powerful rocket, the Falcon Heavy, in February 2018. He is the CEO of SpaceX, and also he was a chief designer in building the Falcon rockets, Dragon, and Grasshopper.

In 2020, SpaceX launched Crew Dragon Demo-2 into orbit with astronauts, and it is the first private company to achieve this milestone. Elon Musk founded The Boring Company to construct tunnels in 2016.
