A very massive disagreement took place between workers and Infosys. The company has made Work from the office compulsory for three days a week. The work-from-home ends for the employees. Employees are called back to the office after isolation, which leads everyone to work from home due to the critical condition of COVID-19. “The employees are required to do work from the office for three days a week,” said the management of Bengaluru to restore the work environment.

As the Management of Bengaluru stated, three years of work from home was enough for the post. It also added that except for employees with medical needs or treatment, every other employee must immediately start work from the office.

In early October, Narayana Murthy, the founder of NR Narayana Murthy, stated that India’s productivity is one of the lowest compared to all the other countries. Extending his statement, he also said that “the youth of India should start working at least 70 hours per week. Our youth has the habit not to adapt the not-so-desirable habits from the West.”

The statement got controversial and caused a massive debate on social platforms. The argument got further heated after Bill Gates responded to the comment by saying, “Job is not everything, and asked for at least a three-day-work week.”

By extending his comment further, in the episode of Trevor Noah’s “What Now,” Gated also said that AI would not fully replace humans but would free some labor work. “The purpose of life is not just to do a job, so if you eventually get a society where you only have to work three days a week, it’s probably Okay,” said Bill Gates.

The Wipro company warned employees of the consequences of further delay and disagreement with the hybrid work agreement. It means failure to accept the hybrid work policy will lead to immediate action by the company and will be effective from January 7 onwards. Tata Consultancy Services also moved to the regular office routine.

Infosys decided to make three days a week of work from the office a mandatory choice. As the trend of hybrid work grows, the company recognizes the importance of in-person interaction and teamwork.
