Virat Kohli was first named ODI Cricketer of the Year at ICC Awards when he was 24 years old. Ever since Kohli has built his reputation very well as the greatest athlete ever and he has built a brand value for himself and is very well known worldwide. His recent wedding with the ever gorgeous Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was the talk of the town for so long and set wedding goals for many!

At the age of 29, Kohli had already scored 32 ODI centuries and has his hero Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time record of 49 well and truly in his sights. It is surely just a matter of time before he surpasses the Little Master, particularly if he keeps churning out runs as he did in 2017.

This is the first instance since 2013 that the ODI Cricketer of the Year award has been won by a non-South African.

“It means a lot to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for becoming the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2017 and also the ICC ODI Player of the Year,” Kohli was quoted as saying in an ICC statement. He also added, “I won that back in 2012 also but it’s the first time winning the Garfield Sobers Trophy, and it’s a huge honor for me. It’s probably the biggest of all in world cricket and two Indians getting it back-to-back makes it more special.”
