In a surprising turn, Elon Musk has publicly expressed regret over his past social media posts about former U.S. President Donald Trump. Known for his unapologetically bold online presence, Musk’s admission marks a rare moment of self-reflection from the billionaire CEO. He acknowledged candidly that some of his remarks “went too far” and may have crossed lines he now wishes he hadn’t.

Elon Musk, the billionaire, recently posted that he regrets some of the things he wrote about former U.S. President Donald Trump on social media days after their huge fight.

Elon Musk’s Recent Post Affected Tesla’s Stock?

After Musk’s apology, Tesla‘s stock increased by 2.67% to $335 in premarket trading on Wednesday. As the conflict between the president and the richest person in the world intensified last week, the stock of the electric vehicle manufacturer took a serious hit. The stock price has now returned to its June 4 level, the day before the two publicly clashed.

The Significance Of It

The relationship that has defined the first half of Trump’s second presidency was significantly disrupted by the June 5 confrontation between Musk and Trump.

The two men, who are both heavy users of social media, continued their attacks on one another. The president said that Tesla was “having a hard time” and that Musk had been “wearing thin” when he departed the White House at the end of May. Musk also claimed that Trump would not have won the 2024 election without his support.

Musk was warned by Trump of “very serious consequences” if the billionaire proceeded to finance primary opponents of current Republican lawmakers.

The U.S. president had stated, “If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” in response to news that Musk was lending support to candidates challenging Trump-backed Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.

Trump had publicly commended Musk’s position as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an advisory group dedicated to cutting federal spending, just one week prior. Citing disputes about the direction of government spending, Musk resigned from the position.

Musk publicly criticized the U.S. president’s focal point legislation within days of his resignation. Trump accused Musk of ingratitude and threatened to investigate federal contracts given to Musk’s firms as a result of the rapid backlash against his posts.

Trump had, however, stated that the Tesla CEO would return shortly. “Elon really isn’t going anywhere,” he remarked. “I have a feeling he’s going to be back and forth.”

Musk’s Epstein Files: A U-Turn And A Bombshell

Elon Musk’s explosive posts implying a connection between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who committed suicide in 2019 while being held on sex trafficking charges, caused tensions to rise.

Elon Musk added, “Time to drop the really big bomb: (Trump) is in the Epstein files,” referring to government records that have not yet been made public and are purportedly connected to Epstein’s network.

He claimed that these records might contain compromising information about Trump and suggested that officials were censoring them.

Musk did not specify which files he was referring to or offer any supporting documentation. He asked followers to “mark this post for the future” in a subsequent post, saying, “The truth will come out.”

One thing is evident as the headlines continue to swirl and Tesla’s stock rises again: this is more than just a rivalry between two influential people. It provides insight into the complex relationship between politics, technology, and ego in contemporary America. It is unclear if Elon Musk and Donald Trump will make amends or continue on their collision path, but their altercation has already had a significant impact on the national dialogue, with repercussions that will probably influence Wall Street and Washington in the months to come.
