Both Reels and Shorts are coming with a hands-free timer to record any video. The timer range in Instagram Reels is ranging between 3 to 10 seconds. In YouTube Shorts, users can set between 0 to 10 or 20 seconds.

In YouTube Shorts, users can create videos for 60 seconds or less than that. In Instagram Reels, users can create videos in only up to 30 seconds.
