Virat Kohli continued his sublime form in the IPL 2024 and scored his second consecutive fifty. During the second strategic timeout of RCB’s batting, Gautam Gambhir, KKR’s mentor, came to the ground and shook hands with Virat Kohli. He congratulated Virat Kohli on scoring fifty. The duo seemed to sort their differences out and hugged each other.

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have been stalwarts of Team India’s batting in the past. However, they were both seen getting involved in a verbal spat numerous times during IPL matches. Last year, Gautam was a mentor of Lucknow Super Giants. The duo was involved in an intense on-field spat after the match.

Gautam Gambhir told the official broadcaster Star Sports that he wanted to beat RCB even in his dreams. He said,
“One team I wanted to beat every time, and probably even in my dreams, was RCB. The second-most high-profile team and flamboyant team with the owner and with the squad: Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers.”
He added,
“Honestly not won anything, still thought that they won everything with that kind of attitude, and (i) can’t take that. And probably the three best wins that KKR have ever had were against RCB — the first time; the first game of the IPL, Brendan McCollum against RCB. (The) 49 all out…RCB. 6 overs 100. Probably the only time in IPL where in the first 6 overs 100 was scored; Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine.”
