Sanjay Manjrekar Told Wankhede Crowd To Behave

The Wankhede crowd booed their new captain, Hardik Pandya, as he walked out for the toss against Rajasthan Royals on April 1, 2024. Sanjay Manjrekar, the broadcaster, told the crowd to behave and not boo Hardik Pandya. But as expected, the boo gets louder and louder. Rohit Sharma has led the franchise Mumbai Indians since 2013. But this year, the management replaced him with the trade player from Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya.

While Hardik Pandya was coming out for the toss, a section of the crowd in Wankhede Stadium was chanting ‘Rohit Rohit’ to showcase their support for former captain Rohit Sharma. Sanjay Manjrekar asks the crowd for a big round of applause for Hardik Pandya and behave.

Even Hardik Pandya was surprised by the reaction from the home crowd. He already faced lots of boos from the crowd in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. He was not expecting that the home crowd would also boo him. In fact, the boo was much louder for Hardik Pandya.

Cricket fans are unhappy that Hardik Pandya has replaced Rohit Sharma as Captain of Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya was also criticized for his captaincy during the first two matches of IPL 2024.
