A massive fire incident took place at the Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh at Prayagraj after two gas cylinders blew up inside a tent reported by the officials. The fire rapidly spread to 18 more nearby tents, which were burned. However, there were no deaths or injuries reported, as the police stated.

Authorities said that fire trucks stationed at the venue as a precautionary measure for the grand religious gathering immediately sprang into action. Firefighters rushed to the affected area and managed to bring the blaze under control before it could cause further damage.
To avoid any threat to the people’s lives, the residents of the surrounding tents were quickly rushed out of the affected area. Officials are assessing the extent of the damage and ensuring that those affected receive necessary assistance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi even called up his counterpart, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, to check on him. Akhara police station in-charge Bhaskar Mishra said, “Two cylinders exploded in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh Mela, causing a massive fire in the camps. Firefighters doused the blaze“
Further after the clarification, the official X handle of the Mahakumbh posted, “Very sad. The fire incident at Mahakumbh has shocked everyone. The administration is ensuring immediate relief and rescue operations. We pray to Maa Ganga for everyone’s safety.”
However, as per the officials, now everything is under control and the fire has been extinguished.
