"The Army has conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads on the LoC and significant casualties have been caused. The motive of this operation was to hit out at the terrorists who were planning to infiltrate into our territory," Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) Lt General Ranbir Singh said

What Is Surgical Strike?

Praising last night's operation for its execution, former air chief Fali said, “It is a calculated maneuver to ensure you deliver maximum damage which gives a big surprise to your adversary.”

The surgical strike took place after PM Modi called an urgent meeting of his cabinet committee on security

As we know that, India had called for an international diplomatic boycott of Pakistan as it shielded terrorists on its land. In line with that strategy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he will not travel in November to Pakistan to attend the regional SAARC summit. Three other countries of the eight-member SAARC have joined India's boycott.

However, Lt Gen Singh said, "India did not have any plan to continue with such strikes, but reminded Pakistan that the Indian Army was always ready to combat any emergency. We expect the Pak army to cooperate with us with a view to erase menace of terrorism".
