Sienna Weir, a finalist in the 2022 Miss Universe pageant, died in a tragic horse-riding accident in Australia at the young age of 23.
According to the New York Post, Weir, an Australian fashion model, suffered fatal injuries while horseback riding last month. It read, “She was reportedly put on life support for several weeks due to her injuries before being taken off on Thursday, May 4.”

Sienna Weir was born in 2000. She holds a degree in English literature and psychology from Sydney University. Weir was one of 27 finalists in the 2022 Miss Universe competition. In interviews with local media, she expressed a desire to shift to the United Kingdom in order to “spend more time with my sister, niece, and nephew and expand both my professional and social network.”
She absolutely loved horse riding and told Gold Coast Magazine,
”Although I’ve lived most of my life in the city, I have a deep and unmoving love for show jumping. My family isn’t quite sure where this passion came from, but I’ve been horse-riding since I was 3 years old and can’t imagine my life without it. I travel to rural Sydney 2-3 times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend.”
Sienna Weir’s death was confirmed by her parents, who said that they decided to take her off life support.
The tragic news was also confirmed by Weir’s modeling agency, Scoop Management. The management shared a sweet and short video of the model with the caption, “Forever in our hearts.”
Social media was overwhelmed with tributes from friends, relatives, and colleagues in the modeling world, with many expressing their sorrow. Chris Dwyer, an Australian photographer, wrote, “You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up the room, and the world is a lot darker now that you are gone.” Another commented, “As a fellow equestrian, this pains me even more. Rest in Peace.”
