Saran Raj, a supporting actor and assistant to filmmaker Vetrimaaran, died in a car accident in KK Nagar on Thursday. According to a police statement obtained by the Times of India, an incident involving two people occurred on Thursday. One of them, a supporting actor, Palaniappan (41), was on his way home from Saligramam. He had been to a party with his friends and was intoxicated.
Palaniappan was driving his car on Arcot Road at 11:30 p.m. when he unexpectedly lost control and collided with Saran Raj’s two-wheeler. Saran Raj (29), a resident of Dhanalakshmi Nagar Sixth Street in Maduravoyal, died as a result of severe brain injuries incurred in the accident. According to authorities, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Following the incident, the police quickly opened an investigation and arrested Palaniappan in connection with the accident. They have also returned Saranraj’s body to his family members.
