We are always amazed by the action scenes in the movies. However, these action scenes are quite dangerous and sometimes they took the life away from the one who is performing them. Hence, today we have brought you 10 movies in which real deaths occurred during production.
1. The Crow
The shooting was about to get completed but due to the carelessness, an accident happened that caused the life of Brandon Lee. During a scene, Brandon Lee was to be shot. Of course, they would be using the dummy rounds but they accidentally used the real rounds that took the life away from Brandon Lee.
During the shooting, a bodybuilding extra broke his leg. He was rushed to the hospital later he suffered a heart attack due to blood clotting in his leg. Although he survived, the first heart attack but he died during the second.
3. Twilight Zone: The Movie – 1983
The fiction fantasy and horror film, Twilight Zone was surrounded by controversies due to the real deaths. The three actors including Vic Morrow and child actors Myca Dinh Le (age 7) and Renee Shin-Yi Chen (age 6) died in an accident. This happened during an action scene when the helicopter was supposed to fly at altitude of 25 meters. Being close to the ground, the helicopter could not avoid the effect of the pyrotechnics and eventually crashed.
4. Top Gun
The movie is about an ace pilot that competes with some of the best in the country. Although most of the scenes were designed graphically but there were some scenes that were real and one of the scenes caused the life of the well-known aerobatic pilot Art Scholl.
5. The Final Season
Roland Schlotzhauer was a popular camera operator. He could shot from various extreme situations. One of the extreme situations was when he was shooting from the helicopter. Unfortunately, the helicopter crashed and he died.
6. Enter the Dragon
The legendary Bruce Lee was completing the dubbing work in the studious for the film. He was found collapsed in the bathroom and took to the hospital without wasting any time. However, he died.
We all were amazed by the daredevil stunts in the film. However, those stunts took the life of the stunt double of Vin Diesel, Harry L. O’Conner. He died during production while he was performing the submarine scenes but couldn’t pull that off and the submarine crashed in the bridge.
8. The Return of the Musketeers
Roy Kinnear accidentally died during production. In the scene, Roy had to ride a horse. He was not a confident horse rider. Moreover, the stones were slippery, through which the horse had to travel. As the luck was not in the favor of Roy Kinnear, his horse slipped and that accident caused his life.
9. The Flight of the Phoenix
Pau Mantz died during production while he was performing a risky take off maneuver by a plane.
In the making of the movie, frozen sand was used. The frozen sand was stored on a wall from which it fell on the head of the set dresser David Ritchie and eventually killed him.
