Twitter Wants To Give Rashid Khan Indian Citizenship – Here’s How The Government Responded

Sun Risers Hyderabad has had an amazing performance from its player Rashid Khan who defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2018 season, Qualifier 2. Rashid saved the team from an average score by getting 34 runs from just 10 balls. What more? He hit 4 brilliants sixes!

Fans, observing his splendid performance, took to Twitter to elucidate their praise and requests to Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of External Affairs. Several tweets requesting Sushma Swaraj to grant Rashid Khan Indian citizenship were seen as fans were positive India will win the World Cup next May with Rashid at our disposal.

One tweet reads:

“I am sure I can speak on behalf of all countrymen in this case. Respected @SushmaSwaraj, we want @rashidkhan_19 to get Indian citizenship!#KKRvSRH”

Of course, the Minister did not stay quiet to their requests. Sushma Swaraj tweeted back saying:

“I have seen all the tweets. Citizenship matters are dealt with by the Ministry of Home Affairs.”

Uh-oh! Looks like we’ve hit a miss. But we can surely appreciate her sense of humor and fun in this regard.
