Some GTA 6 fans are counting down the days until the game’s release. But one American pilot decided to celebrate his excitement in a rather unusual way. Instead of creating fan art on a computer or canvas, Benjamin McDaniel took his Cessna aircraft into the sky and turned his flight path into a massive GTA 6 mural. The result? An eight-hour flying adventure that has caught the attention of gaming and aviation enthusiasts.
Popularly known as The Pilot Picasso, McDaniel spent eight hours and eight minutes drawing the elaborate design above Arkansas. His artwork included the Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) logo, a helicopter, an alligator, palm trees, a sports car and a bikini-clad woman, bringing together several elements inspired by the game’s Florida setting.
How Did The Pilot Create GTA 6 Artwork In The Sky?

McDaniel took off from the Bentonville (QTV) airstrip in Arkansas at 11:29 am. He returned to the same airport at approximately 7:37 pm after completing his unusual artistic project. The entire design was created through carefully planned flight movements. Every turn, change in direction and section of the drawing had to be mapped out before the aircraft could complete the artwork.
Interestingly, the drawing was visible on flight-tracking platforms such as FlightRadar24. The official FlightRadar24 account spotted McDaniel’s flight when he had completed only the helicopter portion of the design. As the flight continued, more people started following his aircraft to see what he was creating.
“I’ve Been Waiting 11 Years For This Moment”

McDaniel shared a time-lapse video of the flying adventure on social media. His caption perfectly captured his excitement about the upcoming game. “I spent 8 hours drawing GTA 6 in the sky, but realistically, I’ve been waiting 11 years for this moment,” McDaniel captioned the time-lapse video.
For him, however, creating such artwork involves much more than simply following a drawing on a map. He has to consider the aircraft’s performance, altitude, location and turns while ensuring the entire route can be completed safely. The GTA 6 mural is another example of how he combines his passion for flying with his artistic side.
Social Media Users Love The Unique GTA 6 Tribute
The unusual flight quickly attracted reactions from people online. Gaming fans were impressed by the effort, while others enjoyed watching the complete design take shape through the aircraft’s movements.
One user commented, “This was awesome to watch! My children even thought it was the coolest thing ever,” Another wrote, “We got GTA 6 sky art before GTA 6. But seriously, this is so crazy.” The artwork also gave people another reason to discuss the long-awaited game, which has become one of the most anticipated gaming releases.
GTA 6 Is Not His First Sky Artwork
McDaniel has previously used his aircraft to recreate famous works of art. His flying creations include interpretations of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Edvard Munch’s The Scream. Rather than using a traditional canvas, he turns flight routes into large-scale drawings that can be tracked online. Each project requires planning and precision, making aviation an essential part of his creative process.
When Is GTA 6 Releasing?

While McDaniel has already created his tribute in the sky, gamers are waiting for the actual game. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-loading is scheduled to begin on November 10, giving players an opportunity to download the game ahead of its release.
Until then, McDaniel’s eight-hour flying tribute has given GTA fans something different to celebrate. And judging by the reactions, his latest creation has certainly made an impression.
