In a powerful yet calculated response to the brutal terror attacks in Pahalgam, India has launched Operation Sindoor, a targeted military operation against nine terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These strikes were carried out between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM, and as per official sources, they were non-escalatory, ensuring no Pakistani Army posts or civilian areas were targeted. The aim was crystal clear — eliminate terror bases without triggering wider conflict.

Why The Name ‘Operation Sindoor’?

The operation’s name carries emotional weight. Sindoor symbolizes the sacrifice of the innocent, especially the lives lost in the horrifying Pahalgam attack, where 26 tourists were shot dead in front of their families, as per the Government of India. This strike is India’s measured answer to that barbaric act. The Indian Army said,

“A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. It said the actions by the Indian Armed forces have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution.”

Political And Civil Reactions On Operation Sindoor

Pakistan’s Reaction: Predictable Denial And UN Rhetoric

Pakistan has termed the airstrikes a “flagrant violation of the UN Charter” and accused India of hitting civilian areas — a claim India has firmly denied. Ironically, Pakistan’s own Foreign Ministry acknowledged the strike locations — Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad — indirectly confirming India’s precision hits.

Why This Is Historic

For the first time since the 1971 war, all three wings — the Army, Navy, and Air Force — coordinated a joint strategic strike across the border. It marks a turning point in India’s counter-terror response strategy — bold, targeted, and without triggering a full-blown war.

Operation Sindoor isn’t just about retaliation — it’s about drawing a clear red line. When innocent lives are lost, India will strike back — hard and with precision.
