North Korean Soldier Crosses Border And Flees To South Korea And His Comrades Shot At Him: Video

The intensity between North and South Korea is hidden from no one. Hence, fewer activities can be seen in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). However, recently a North Korean Soldier crossed the border and reached to the South Korean side. The video footage was released by the United Nations Commands on this Wednesday.

The video is somewhat dramatic. The North Korean soldier is sprinting across the demilitarized zone that divides the Korean Countries while his former comrades were taking aim at him.

 

Korean War Armistice Was Violated

The Korean War armistice was violated by the North Korean soldiers as they fired. Moreover, a North Korean soldier crossed the border, which is another violation of the armistice that put a stop to the Korean War in 1953.

 

Future Peace Is The Main Objective

The matter was needed to be discussed. Hence UN Command has requested a meeting. “The armistice agreement was challenged, but it remains in place,” Gen. Vincent K. Brooks, the American leader in the UN Commands. The future peace is the main objective right now.

 

What’s In The Video

The footage starts at 3:11 P.M on November 13. A military vehicle can be seen roaming in the tree lined street on the North Korean side. At 3:13 the car stopped at the monument of former North Korean leader Kim Il Sung.

 

Defection From A North Korean Soldier

The soldier came out from the car and rushed towards the South Korean side. 4 North Korean soldiers tried to pursue him and got him wounded in the process. The Soldier was injured, but he managed to get to the other side. At 3:43 the North Korean soldier was shown lying in the pile of the leaves and hiding behind the wall. At the dusk, two South Korean soldiers came to the rescue and dragged him to safety. 

 

Crossed The Border To Save His Life

He was immediately rushed to a Hospital where the doctor found 4 wounds on his body. It was hard to tell how many times he was shot as it seemed he was shot multiple times on the same location. Surnamed ‘Oh’, the 24 year old Soldier gained consciousness and told that he was listening to South Korean and Western Music that’s why he had to take this leap to save his life. This year, there are 3 cases of defection from the North Korean armed forces.
