Neerja is surely Sonam Kapoor's best performance till date as she carried the role of Neerja Bhanot impressivley. Film is shown from the point of view of the flight's head purser, Neerja Bhanot, who thwarted the hijack attempt by alerting the pilots, thus grounding the plane. She was killed by the hijackers while helping to save 359 of the 379 passengers and crew on board. Made on the modest budget of 20 crores, Neerja collected 135 crores in its total run, making it one of the must watch movie of 2016.

 

3. Sultan

Salman Khan solo release of 2016 Sultan has broken many Box office records and became the Fourth Highest grossing Indian Film of all time. Made on a budget of 70 crores, Sultan did a business of 584 crores worldwide. Sultan is a romantic sports – drama film focuses on Sultan Ali Khan, a fictional wrestling champion from Haryana whose successful career creates a rift in his personal life. Sultan is also one of the must watch of 2016.


4. Rustom

Rustom is a courtroom drama starring Akshay Kumar and Ileana D'Cruz as lead roles. Film is based on real life incident of Naval Officer K.M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja. Rustom was made on a budget of 65 crores and collected 216.35 crores and making it to the must watch movies of 2016. It was third consecutive hit of Akshay Kumar in 2016.


5. MS Dhoni

Based on the life of India's most successful captain MS Dhoni, This untold story is truly an inspiring one for everyone and it was declared as Superhit and fifth highest grossing movie of 2015. MS Dhoni The Untold Story was made on a budget of 104 crores and did the collection of 215.48 crores.

 

6. Pink

Pink is a courtroom drama starring Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer. He gave an intense performance in this film. The title of the film has no relationship as being the favorite color of girls but rather conveys that, women should have the freedom to speak and walk freely at night. Pink collected 107.32 crores worldwide and made on a budget of 23 crores.

 

7. Housefull 3

Housefull 3 is the third installment of Housefull series; a multi starrer Indian comedy film starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh as lead roles. It is Akshay Kumar second hit of 2016. Made on a budget of 85 crores, it collected 195 crores worldwide.


8. Dishoom

Dishoom is an action comedy film starring John Abraham, Akshaye Khanna and Varun Dhawan in lead roles. Dishoom is the commerical hit of 2016 and it gave Varun Dhawan a Best actor in Supporting role comedy genre. Dishoom was made on a budget of 55 crores and collected 121 crores worldwide.


9. Dear Zindagi

Dear Zindagi is a coming age of drama film starring Alia Bhatt with Shahrukh Khan as special appearance. Dear Zindagi received mostly positive response from critics. Audiences praised Shah Rukh Khan's and Bhatt's performances. Made on a budget of 22 crores, it crossed 138.60 crores till date.

 

10. Dangal

Dangal is 2016 special. Aamir Khan starrer Dangal is still running successfully in Box Office and its 100% Success record for Aamir Khan in Christmas. Dangal is biographical sports drama film based on the life of Mahavir SIngh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Dangal was made on a budget of 70 crores and till that the collection crossed 505.88 crores worldwide and will be the most successful film of 2016 and one of the highest grossing Indian film of all time.
