The List Of World’s Safest Cities Released By Economist Intelligence Unit; Two Indian Cities Made It To The List

Most of us love to travel and explore the World. However, sometimes our trip gets bitter because of various reasons like an unhealthy atmosphere, safety concerns, etc. But the most basic and uttermost important thing we need is security and safety.  Every two years Economist Intelligence Unit conducting this survey since 2015 based on the 76 indicators, including digital, health, infrastructure, personal and environmental security. Notably, Tokyo secured the first position for two consecutive years, 2017 and 2019. Economist Intelligence Unit has judged various cities on various parameters and has taken out the list of the World’s safest cities.

This year, Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, became the safest city in the world. The recent study reveals the 60 lists of cities around the world named safest cities based on the points secured out of 100, taking into account 76 indicators. The two Indian cities New Delhi and Mumbai managed to secure points 56.1 and 54.4 respectively to grab their position in the top 50 list. The top 10 world’s safest cities are listed here.

 

1. Copenhagen

Copenhagen had secured 82.4 points to lead in the first position in the list of safest cities in the world. It has overtaken Tokyo by 2.4 points which was the safest city in 2019. Copenhagen is named the capital of Denmark in the early 15th century. It is the center for the cultural, economic, and government in Denmark. Copenhagen is the leading city in personal security, and other cities on the list are Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm, and Brussels.

 

2. Toronto

Toronto, a city in Canada, had secured the second position with 82.2 points. It is recognized as one of the multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world. This Canadian most populous city is an international center of business, finance, and arts. Toronto is also the expensive city to live in Canada, next to Vancouver. However, it has the most secure infrastructure in Hong Kong, Singapore, Copenhagen, and Tokyo.

 

3. Singapore

Singapore is the third safest city, scored 80.7 points which was the second city in the 2019 listings. It is famous for the 161-year old tropical garden, which is the first World Heritage site in Singapore. It is also considered a hub for international transport, serving some of the busiest sea and air trades in Asia.

 

4. Sydney

Sydney in Australia is the fourth safest city in the world with 80.1 points. Low crime rates, a transparent legal system, and a reliable police force are the factors that support the city to be the safest city. In addition, Singapore is good in digital security, health security, and infrastructure security.

 

5. Tokyo

Tokyo had slipped from its first position and managed to score 80 points out of 100 and ranked fifth this year. The capital of Japan is the most populous city in the world and the center of political and economical operations in Japan. Tokyo secured more points in Health security and infrastructure security.
