Japanese Players Cleaned Their Locker Room, Left A Thank You Note After Their Defeat Won Million Hearts

FIFA world cup 2018 tournament already has several matches that brought shocking results. The defending champions Germany is out of the tournament. Moreover, Argentina and Portugal were knocked out on the same night. We have seen Japan was performing well in the tournament. However, they were knocked out in the round of 16 in a heartbreaking way. After, the match the Japanese players bid farewell in the most heart touching and heart winning way.

Japan Had A Healthy Lead

Both of the teams ended the first half at the score of 0-0. Just after the halftime the Japanese midfielder, Genki Haraguchi scored in the 48th minute and put Japan in the lead. Japan had another chance to celebrate when Japanese midfielder Takashi Inui put the ball in the goal. S. Kagawa assisted this one.  Japan has doubled their lead and Belgium’s elimination from the tournament was near.

The Flow Of The Match Changed

However, Belgium scored two back to back goals and equalized the score.

Everyone was hoping that the match will go to the extra time. However, Nacer Chadli scored in the stoppage time and brought the win to Belgium.

This was quite a heartbreaking moment for the Japanese players and their fans. But, they did not show any dejection on the field.

After the match, they thanked their fans for supporting them. It was quite heartbreaking for the fans too and they broke out in tears.
