Chandrayaan-1 is the first Indian Lunar probe launched by ISRO on October 22, 2008. This is one of the biggest achievement. On 14 November 2008, the Moon Impact Probe separated from the Chandrayaan orbiter and struck the south pole in a controlled manner. This makes India, the fourth country to place its flag on the Moon.
Launched on November 5, 2013, it is India’s first interplanetary mission. The Mass Orbiter Mission also called Mangalyaan was launched by ISRO making it the fourth space agency to reach Mars. This also made India the first Asian nation to reach Martian orbit and the first nation in the world to do so in its maiden attempt.
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully launched Chandrayaan-2, the country’s second moon mission on July 22, 2019. Chandrayaan-2 was on board on the most powerful launcher GSLV-Mk III, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. It is an Indian lunar mission and the budget is 978 crore. ISRO is aiming for a soft landing of the lander in the South Pole region of the moon. No country has gone so far and will make India the first country to do so.
These are really amazing milestones and will make every Indian proud.
