Indian Railways To Start Trains From May 12 For Selected Routes

After 50 days, Indian railways to start operations of trains from May 12. Initially, there will be 15 train routes to start resuming the services. All the trains operating will be complete AC Special trains. There will not be any general coaches on the train. The passengers with waiting tickets are not allowed to board the train. The mask will be compulsory while traveling. Initially, 15 pairs of the train will run each day.

How To Book Tickets

The booking will start from May 11, 4 PM onwards. There will not be any tickets sold from railway stations. Tickets will only be purchases online. The people who are planning to travel can book the tickets from IRCTC official websites. All the passengers will go through thermal screening before traveling. Also, the trains will not stop at every station.

The railway ministry said that these trains will be run as special trains from New Delhi Station connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.

Please make sure there will not be any ticket counter at railway stations and tickets will only be available online. Passengers with valid and confirm tickets are only allowed to enter at the railway stations. Indian railways will start more special services on new routes, based on the available coaches. There are already 20000 coaches booked for COVID-19 care centers. Also, there are a number of coaches reserved to enable the operations of up to 300 trains every day as Shramik Special Trains for stranded migrants.

India comes closer to the end of the third phase of lockdown due to coronavirus. However, we request everyone unless and until it is not necessary, one should avoid traveling.
