Soon India Witnesses Its First Electric Taxi, Trial In Nagpur This May

Electric Taxi

It’s a dream of everyone to expereince pollution free environment. These days there are hardly anyone who doesn’t use motor bikes and cars.

In previous days, atleast in villages we experienced fresh air but with the advancements in automotive industry and the banks giving vehicle loans at low interest rate, everyone started using vehicles and pollution too increased a lot.

In order to tackle the pollution in the country, NDA government came up with electric taxi which is one of its ambitious projects.

Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari said that the first electric taxi trial in the country is going to be launched first in Nagpur from May 24.

The project will be undertaken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation and is the first project of its kind in the country, he added.

“We wanted to start the project early but there are some problems in setting up charging stations,” Gadkari said.

For the past one year, the road ministry has been trying to work on pollution-reduction technologies for vehicles. Finally, this proposal of e-taxis came into the picture! An electric bus for MPs is also being run by the ministry.

Yet another great step by NDA government. What’s your opinion on this project? Share us in the comments.
