Until 1990, Snickers was called Marathons in the United Kingdom and Ireland. However, because Snickers was the global brand name in the United States, Mars chose to change the name of their UK product to match the global brand.

In 1964, University of Oregon track athlete Phil Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman established Nike. Blue Ribbon Sports was the original moniker for the sportswear behemoth that is Nike today (BRS).
In 1971, the corporation changed its name to Nike, after the Greek goddess of victory.

Foodiebay, a food directory website, was created in 2010. It was renamed ‘Zomato’ two years later, and it is now one of the top food tech unicorns. It even recently purchased UberEATS to bolster its position in the market.
8. Amazon (Cadabra Inc)
Amazon.com was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, a former Wall Street hedge fund executive. Initially, he chose the name ‘Cadabra Inc,’ derived from the magical phrase Abracadabra. He later chose the name Amazon for his company, which is named after the world’s greatest river.
He chose this name since it began with the first letter of the alphabet and was associated with a massive South American river.
