Generally, we see the white colored Number plates on the vehicles running on the road. However, sometimes we see some cars that have different colors of their No. plates. Well, there is a reason behind each of the color. Moreover, it is illegal for a person to use different colored number plate on his/her vehicle. That can lead him/her to jail. Today we will familiarize with the reason behind the colors of the No. plates in India.

 

1. Black Number Plate

We see the black Number plates in several vehicles. The black color states that the vehicle belongs to popular hotels and it is used to transport VIP. Usually, the black color plate is attributed to expensive cars. On the plate, the number is written in yellow color.

 

2. Red Number Plates

The red colored plates are used in the vehicles of Governor or President. No other man can use this number plate. On this plate, the numbers are written in the golden color. On the other hand, we see many red-plated vehicles that got the number written on them in white color. Well, that means the vehicle is designed for the testing purpose by the company.

 

3. Yellow Color Number Plate

Yellow colored number plate can be seen on the commercial vehicles like taxies and trucks. On the plate, the number is written with the black color.

 

4. White Number Plates

The white Number plates are attributed to the non-commercial or personal vehicle. The white colored font is used to write the number on the plate. This kind of vehicles cannot be used for commercial purpose.

 

5. Blue Number Plates

The blue colored Number plates are assigned to the vehicles of UN Mission or foreign embassy. The numbers are written on the white colored font on the blue plate.
