Locals in southwest Delhi Dwarka attacked a pilot and her husband on Wednesday after it was revealed that they had hired and physically mistreated a 10-year-old girl as a housemaid. According to the video, the pilot was pulled by her hair and violently attacked by many people. The pilot’s husband works on an airline’s ground crew. Shocking footage showed individuals continuously striking the lady, still dressed in her pilot’s outfit. As she pleads for help, she is grabbed by her hair and hit by many ladies simultaneously. She screams “sorry” at one point, but the abuse continues.

A group of guys is seen assaulting her spouse separately. As several individuals intercede to stop the mob assault, he tries to come to his wife’s aid. One man may be heard yelling, “She will die.” The couple, Kaushik Bagchi (36) and Poornima Bagchi (33), can be seen pleading for their life in the video. After an older guy interfered, the mob dispersed.
The Reports
According to sources, the couple hired a 10-year-old girl for domestic tasks roughly two months ago. The youngster’s relative saw injury marks on her arms today and contacted the police. The girl was allegedly attacked on suspicion of stealing. Locals soon learned of reports that the pair would abuse and beat the girl. A mob gathered and hit the pair after they spotted the traces of violence on the girl’s arms and under her eyes. Later, cops arrived and arrested the pair. A case has been filed, and more investigation is underway.
Delhi Police’s Take On This
Delhi Police stated,
“The investigation revealed that the 10-year-old girl had been working as domestic help for the couple for the past two months. She was allegedly beaten by them. The relative of the girl noticed this today, which led to a crowd gathering at the couple’s residence and confronting/manhandling them.”
The 10-year-old girl has been counseled and is being examined by a doctor. According to authorities, the young girl has burn scars on her body and injury to her eyes. He said the girl was hired through a relative who also works in a neighboring household. The officer stated,
“Action will be taken as per the law against those seen manhandling the couple in the video.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal, criticized the event and stated that harsh punishment should be meted out to such “merciless people” for keeping a juvenile girl as a domestic worker and severely tormenting her. She tweeted in Hindi,
“A 10-year-old girl was kept as domestic help by a female pilot and her husband in Delhi and was brutally tortured. An answer has been sought from Delhi Police in this matter. Strictest action should be taken against such merciless people.”
