Day 2, FIFA 2018: Portugal And Spain Draw 3 – 3, Iran And Uruguay Win

After a stunning game between Russia and Saudi Arabia on Day 1, which Russia won with a 5 – 0 lead, Day 2, FIFA 2018 had three matches going on. The matches were between Egypt and Uruguay; Morocco and Iran; Portugal and Spain. Read on for a quick summary of the matches.

 

Egypt Vs Uruguay

Uruguay won the match with a 1 – 0 score. The goal was scored by Jose Gimenez, while delivering a free kick, Gimenez rose highest in the area to head into the right-hand corner of the net. The goal ultimately got Uruguay’s victory over Egypt. The match took place at Ekaterinburg Arena. Egypt is so far winless at the World Cup, drawing two and losing two of their four games. On the other hand, it’s Uruguay’s 13th World Cup appearance in a row.

 

Morocco Vs Iran

Iran won the match with a 1 – 0 score. Sadly, it was a horrible own goal which made Iran lose the game. Aziz Bouhaddouz steered the ball into his own team’s net which turned out as a disaster for Morocco and a celebration for Iran. With just a minute left, this gave Iran a lead and gave them victory.

 

Portugal Vs Spain

The match ended with a draw with 3 – 3 score. The match took place at the Fisht Stadium and the first goal was a penalty goal for Portugal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo. Spain then went in for a goal as Diego Costa scored one for his team. Quick enough at the 44th minute, Ronaldo scored another goal making it 2 – 1. And at halftime, Portugal was at the lead with 2 – 1 score. Diego Costa scored another one and equalled the score as 2 – 2. Spain swiftly steered towards the lead as Nacho score the 3rd goal for Spain. It was a tough battle for Portugal till the 88th minute but then Ronaldo comes back into action again and scored the 3rd goal for Portugal which drew the match. What a stunning game!
