Cockroach Spotted On Met Gala Red Carpet; Video Goes Viral

One of the most prestigious fashion events of the year, the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, took place in 2023. It featured tributes to iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld from several A-listers and artists. Social media users have been cracking up and leaving humorous comments after seeing a video of a cockroach crawling on the red carpet.

The Met Gala theme this year is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” in tribute to the late fashion designer’s career and life. During his career, Lagerfeld created for Chanel, Fendi, Balmain, and Chloe, in addition to his own label. Penelope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and, of course, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are this year’s gala co-chairs.

Around 400 people attended the Costume Institute’s invitation-only fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Two celebrities, Karlie Kloss and Serena Williams, seized the occasion to announce their pregnancy.

Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham, Naomi Campbell, Pedro Pascal, Doja Cat, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, and Florence Pugh all dressed up for the event. In addition, Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt, both from Bollywood, attended the Met Gala 2023.

Alia is making her first appearance at Hollywood’s most prestigious fashion event. Alia chose a spotless white gown with a flowing silhouette from the Prabal Gurung collection.

Priyanka, on the other hand, donned a black Valentino gown. Her spouse, Nick Jonas, accompanied her.

At the 2023 Met Gala, a surprising guest shared a red carpet moment with several attractive stars. On Monday evening (1 May), a cockroach was seen crawling around the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Unfortunately, the cockroach was found just before Rihanna and A$AP Rocky arrived. The little insect sped over the carpet, deftly making its way up the stairs. Photographer Kevin Mazur captured the insect on the carpet for Variety magazine’s Twitter feed.

The footage of the cockroach quickly went viral. Many claimed that the cockroach, rather than the dozens of celebrities wearing extravagant ensembles in homage to the Met Gala theme, was the “moment” of the evening.
