Burj Khalifa looks like an inverted stalactite (a column of crystals hanging from the roof of a cave). The structure is in the shape of a cone made of steel and glass. It is touted as the “city within a city,” implying there are districts, parks, fountains, and passages inside the tower.
About Burj Khalifa

The world’s tallest building was designed by Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. In March 1996, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, overtook the Sears Tower’s record as the world’s tallest office building. Stainless steel pinnacles measuring 73.5 metres (241 ft) long were placed atop the 88-storey towers, bringing their height to 451.9 metres (1,482 ft 8 in). Then, in 2003, Taiwan’s Taipei 101 (also known as the Taipei Financial Centre) took the title at a huge 508 metres (1,666 ft). Just one year later, construction on the Burj Khalifa began.
It was to form part of a new 2 km² (490-acre) flagship development called Downtown Dubai at the ‘First Interchange’, near Dubai’s main business district in the UAE.
The Burj Khalifa’s building demonstrated Dubai’s rise to prominence as a major international financial hub and tourist attraction.
Since the Burj Khalifa was put in service, Dubai’s tourism industry has continued to grow at an astounding rate, completely transforming the city. The Downtown or Dubai Marina areas saw the emergence of the skyscrapers for which Dubai is now so well-known. Nonetheless, the Burj Khalifa continues to pique travelers’ interest the most. The question of what is inside the Burj Khalifa is one of the most commonly asked. Is the Burj Khalifa an office, hotel, or residential structure?

Who Owns The Burj Khalifa?

Mohamed Alabbar founded the renowned real estate firm Emaar Properties, which owns the Burj Khalifa. Despite being a publicly traded firm, Emaar enjoys substantial financial backing from the Dubai government, particularly from entities such as the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).
Three major companies worked simultaneously to create the Burj Khalifa: BESIX from Belgium, Arabtec from the United Arab Emirates, and Samsung C&T from South Korea. Although the Burj Khalifa does not belong to a single person, Emaar Properties is responsible for its management and operation.
Some of Dubai’s most well-known monuments, like the Dubai Fountain, the Dubai Mall, and the soon-to-be Dubai Creek Tower, are also the result of Emaar’s efforts. It is regarded as one of the world’s largest developers of real estate.
“The Burj is designed to sustain seismic activity to a certain level. It can move in any direction about 1.5 metres,” explained Bashar Mohammed Kassab, Senior Manager of Technical Services, Burj Khalifa.
