What Is Ease Of Living Index?

The Ease of Living Index is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to help cities assess their liveability via global and national benchmarks and encourage cities to move towards an ‘outcome-based’ approach to urban planning and management.

111 cities participated in the assessment exercise that was conducted in 2020. The analysis categorizes them into those cities with a population of more than a million and the cities with a population less than a million, along with all the cities under the Smart Cities Program.
