Furthermore, it is a common strategy used by long-haul drivers. Especially by those who drive about 12-15 hours in a single day.
  • If Possible, Get A Nap Beforehand: A good rest is necessary before long journeys. Nothing can substitute it. Therefore, if possible, always go for a long nap before the journey. However, if long naps are not possible by chance, take a nap for at least 15 to 30 minutes before you have to drive. 2012 study reveals that even a short nap can give you rapid eye movement (REM).
  • Go For Some Caffeine: A 2012 study revealed that one cup of coffee can help reduce the effects of sleep deprivation. Along with this, a 2013 study revealed that caffeine consumption could even lower your risk of crashing on long drives. Then why not go for it?
  • Play Some Music: Playing some good music can help you stay alert and awake. However, do not go for slow songs. Make sure you are listening to some upbeat songs at a moderate level of sound.
