When the Freccia RG ultralight plane crashed nose-first onto a Brescia highway, it caused a terrible inferno and heavy black smoke in the air. The accident was captured on a dramatic video, which showed the plane speeding toward the pavement before colliding.
According to authorities, Ravaglia was trying to make an emergency landing on the highway when he lost control of the aircraft, causing it to flip out and crash.
Two drivers were also hurt but survived the explosion. As drivers tried to escape the disaster site, several cars were spotted close to the flaming debris.

To assist with the investigation, a consultant from Italy’s National Agency for Flight Safety is traveling to Brescia. Authorities will examine the plane’s maintenance records and technical condition as part of the manslaughter inquiry that has been started by the Brescia Public Prosecutor’s Office.
